Default Stock Polaris Outlaw: top speed 84mph?

Hi guys!

A year ago, I bought a used '07 Polaris Outlaw 500. I was told it was pretty much stock, except I believe the sprockets has been changed. I don't know the number of teeth on the original sprockets, but mine are 13 at the front, and 38 at the rear.

Anyway, I can see from other discussions that the top speed on these seems to be around 70-73mph, when stock? I measured mine with a GPS, and it did 84mph. So what I'm wondering is, if something else has to have been done to it except from changing the sprockets?

Previous owner dropped a tooth on the front. Stock sprockets on the Outlaw 500 and 525 were 14 and 38.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up

So that means it'll probably have an even higher top speed with the original front sprocket? Which again means "something" is done with it?

If it runs great and the extra top speed didn't kill your bottom end, I'd be happy it was faster than stock. Sounds like you got bonus power.

Acceleration is good, but maybe I'll drop one more tooth on the front sprocket just to see what happens... I think I can count on one hand how many time I've had use for that top speed anyway

But yeah, until recently I thougt all of them was like that, definately happy for my bonus power
