Default 2000 Yamaha Big Bear Professional no spark

Did not want to hijack anybodys thread so I will open a new one and post.

Thought I would share some info that could perhaps help somebody else. I experienced no spark situation on my Big Bear after putting it away for the winter. After reading the forms the most common cause was the stator. Ordered a stator from Ricky Stator. Installed but did not fix problem. Next replaced the coil because it was the least expensive option. No luck. Next replaced the CDI (with a used one so who knows) and did not fix problem. Gave up and sold the quad to my friend for cheap. He finally gave up too and took it in. Now here is how they got it going...they replaced the staor again with after market Did not fix so put in yet another after market stator which did not fix. Finally they replaced with an expensive Yamaha stator and the quad now purrs like a kitten. Don't ask me why I don't know. But the popular consensus of stator problem was correct so everybody that pointed me in that direction so long ago were correct and can take a bow!!
