What is the problems with the new Yamaha Grizzly? I hear the 2016 and newer have issues like poor air filter, over heating, poor handing and more.

 

I haven't heard of any of those issues with the new Grizzly. I'm sure there are a few bad models but that can be said of any brand.

 

Will I have here several guys now saying that it is not the quality and of he 2014's. The handling, the air filter, cold weather start and over heating is the biggest issues

 

I'm a regular on a very frequently used Grizzly specific forum and the issues that come up on the 16+ Grizzly with regularity are:

Poor air filter design - EHS has an aftermarket product that fixes this
Recall on the Decompression Spring - fixes the cold weather start issue
Smoking on startup - Seems early 2016 models had some heads with valve issues and are being warrantied by Yamaha when brought in and properly diagnosed.


I've not heard anyone complain about handling issues or over heating.


I've got a couple of good friends that have 2016 and 2017 Grizzly and they both love the bikes.

 

Considering the Brute Force 750 and Grizzly are the same price if I were to buy new i'd get the Brute Force instead anyway since it has more power. Vtwin power trumps the single cylinder. The 708cc single is still a fine engine but in my opinion it and the King Quad 750 are overpriced for a single cylinder. My local dealer carries all 3 along with Arctic Cat who also has a 700cc single atv in the lineup. I've come to appreciate the sweet sound of a vtwin over the dull thud of a single thumper.

 

They are a good bike. Riding a "thumper", gives you more "stamina". OK, I made that part up..

 

One of my friends has an old Grizzly 660 and when they recalled them for an overheating issue they gave him new side covers with vents in them. I heard the overheating was only a problem in places that are really hot like deserts anyway. I wonder if the overheating problem on the new ones is anything like that?
