Default 2017 Outlander 450L eng hi temp

Hi just wondering if its normal for my quad to hve hi eng temp during the 10 hr break in?

No. Your new Can Am may be like mine and run about 200F coolant temp coming out of the engine. Mine runs about 5 bars on the heat indicator gauge, what ever that means. But I have read the electric fan comes on at about 205f and off at about 195f.

That said, you may be feeling engine and CVT heat on your left leg. On my 2017 Outlander LTD Can Am exhausts CVT heat on top of the hot exhaust pipe and then out between the plastic side panel and the CVT cover on the left side of the machine. This is not an indication of an overheated engine. It is just a hot exhaust pipe you are sitting on. It gets your left calf kinda warm.

If your machine is truly showing 6 0r 7 bars on the indicator, or if you are getting a hot engine indicator light, you should get your machine to your dealer with the complaint of overheating. It could be it is running too lean for some reason, or a stuck thermostat, or some other problem.

Yes i should have mentioned that the display was reading limp mode hi temp. I shut it off let it cool and took it home lookedit over and realized the fan was unplugged havent had a problem since. I have 2 hours left on my break in so hopefully all goes well. Thanks for the reply by the way
