Default Questions about 2007 Honda Recon 250 ES ????

I'm looking for something that my wife can use to putt-putt around the neighborhood streets and the gravel roads out where we live -- away from town. She won't be going "off-road" with it.

Does the 2007 Honda Recon 250 ES have an automatic transmission? If so, is it clutchless? Does it have an electric start? Would this be suitable for a 69 year old woman (my wife) who is pretty fit and active?

Sounds like the 250 ES will be OK. It has a 5 speed and reverse manual gearbox. The change is by pressing buttons on the handlebars, top button for up, lower button for down. The button mechanism operates the clutch at the same time. There is also a centrifugal (lawnmower) type clutch for setting off from neutral. One slight problem with the 250 Honda is the engine does vibrate a bit, you can feel it through the bars and footpegs.

It has electric start.

Thanks for the info.

I've leaning towards the Arctic Cat Alterra 300 or the Kymco MXU 270 now.

Just purchased a new Arctic Cat Alterra 300. Pick it up next Monday.

Thanks for all the responses -- good info.
