Default My sportsman build

I can never just leave well enough alone, so here I go.
I picked up a 06 sportsman 450, for $500 from a friend of mine. He was having electrical issues, and was completely fed up with it.

Day I bought it home. Washed the deer blood off.

Started digging into the electrical problem. After 2 ecms, a stator, ignition switch, and then finally a kill switch, I have it up and running. Once I had power, I found out it only has 700 miles on it.

Tires were mismatched, so I scored a set of Polaris PXT tires for $150.

Time to freshen things up. Underside got a coat of gloss black. Front bumper, front box, and rear rack all got sprayed with Krylon fusion satin black.

Painted rims gloss black. Have to do a little touch up. Tire machine scratched them up a little.

Bought a set of hub centric spacers. I'm sure I will get hear the horror stories now. I did my research, and know how to properly mount/torque them. Just wanted a little wider stance.
Here's how it is sitting right now. Going to pick up a winch this morning.

Great bargain even if you'd payed 3x what you did. Allowed you to spruce it up and fix what was wrong. You only paid 1/4 of what the trade in price shows on a good clean one. Even I would have jumped on something like this if it came up. Either keep and enjoy it or make a good profit on a sale.https://www.kbb.com/motorcycles/pola...sman-450/2006/

I'll definitely be keeping it. Putting a plow on it, and it will haul deer.
It's going to fit my needs just fine.

It really looks sharp but I would have left the radiator grill black. I like the black wheels better than silver. It seems to me the silver paint peels more than the black stock wheels. I think the black wheels are powder coated and silver is just paint but I but I could be wrong.

Thanks. I'm not completely sold on the rad cover yet, myself. I'll see once I get the wheels on.
If not, I'll just pop it off, and hit it with some black.
Kind of looks like a bumblebee.

Bumblebee. A guy I used to ride with had a yellow and black Suzuki Z400. When he got it he bought all new gear, jersey, pants, helmet, you name it, all in yellow and black. He didn't didn't know that bees and wasps were attracted to bright colors like yellow but he found out soon enough. Maybe they thought he was a flower and tried to pollinate him. He got more stings than the rest of us combined. Maybe I shouldn't have started calling him Queen Bee but that's what he looked like.

Excellent job. Did you paint the spacers yellow? I love the yellow look.

If it nosedives a lot, get a set of hd front coils, Polaris ones are hard to best for the $$. Made a ton of difference on mine.

I painted my wherls silvet, hate the black look. And Polaris uses cheap paint on them.

Thanks. And yes, I did paint the spacers. I think they are going to look pretty cool through the black rims like that.
I was think8ng of upgrading the front suspension, due to the weight of the plow, so I will definitely look in to those coils
