As my user name indicates I am a complete Novice. I am looking to buy a new CV axle set, wheel bearings, and tie rod ends for the front of my 1990 TRX300FW. Who sells the best after market parts in terms of quality and price. Thank you in advance for your help.

 

CV axle sets are tricky on early 300s, you can't even get them from Honda, and late ones don't fit. Not sure what year the changeover came. I think I ended up using early 420 shafts on an 1989 300. I use Interparts shafts, and All ***** or ATV City (UK only) bearing kits and tie rod ends.

Who knows? We were using an Interparts shaft and it wouldn't fit. Checked with the Honda dealer who came back with no longer available, but assured us he had fitted the later genuine shafts to early bikes, "no problem". As we had 350 and 420 shafts in stock, I checked them and found the 420 shaft had the same splines, and was nearer to the right length for this early bike, fitted it and the owner hasn't been back, so assume all is well.
