Haven't worked on one, but according to the parts book it has a conventional fuel tap and an overflow pipe from the bottom of the carb, rather than the usual Suzuki vacuum operated tap and no overflow. If it does have an overflow pipe from the bottom of the carb, it is blocked or lifted so the end is above the carb. What has happened is the float needle has stuck, and fuel has started to overflow, if it can't get out the overflow pipe, it runs into the engine or airbox (and then into the engine down the breather pipe). Sometimes a bit of grit can cause the float to stick, this gets out again and the problem doesn't recur, but sometimes you have to remove and change the needle to cure the fault. However it wouldn't cause a sump full of fuel if the overflow was right.

Thank you. I took the carb off lastnight it was a mess. Dirty as ever could be. And its missing a few o rings and a spring from one of the set screws. It needs rebuilt somethin fierce. I was just concerned of internal damage!
