Jetting a 300EX
#1
HELLO Everyone! I am new in this forum and have a 2001 300EX. I have ridden quads all my life and came into some money, so I bought a new quad. Why a 300EX as opposed to a 400, well, the fiance has to ride it as well. I tell you what though, when I graduate in a year from college......400EX baby. Anyways, I am not too familiar with the re-jetting process of a 300EX. Does anyone have some info on what I should do. I want as much power out of as possible without having to bore it out. I am going to put an aftermarket pipe on but I also need some info on what the "good" one's are. Also, some info on the best filters out there.
You people seem rather intelligent when it comes to ATV's. Remember though, I am in college and don't have a large bank.
THANKS!

I just piped and jetted my 300EX last weekend. since it was my first time inside the carb, I went with the K&N atv jet kit. it comes with instructions that walk you through pretty well. only thing it did'nt explane is where the main jet is. they expect you to already know. so, just so you know, its at the very bottom of the carb. just remove what looks like a drain plug, and wallah.
as far as pipes go, the white bros. E-series slip-on should get you a nice boost. I went with the pro circuit T4 silencer on mine, it was a little cheaper.
if you still want more power, maybe think about going with a cam. you should be able to go with a mild cam, without having to install the heavy duty valve springs.
