Changed the sensor and the thermostat. The fan stays on, and "hot" keeps flashing only when the engine is running and the engine is cold.

 

Sounds like another ecm(#27 parts list) has bit the dust. Controls charging,fan operation,controls the hot light and has several other functions. Original recall includes this model for free updated module IF it hasn't been performed already.
