Default 2006 Polaris 450 Belt issues.

I picked up a 06 450 and recently changed the belt as it blew apart on the first ride. Since I changed the belt I have enjoyed one good ride out of the quad and I am now experiencing a slipping at high speeds or wide open throttle. I noticed it today as I was going down the road. It will go fine until I get to WOT and then it slips. What am I looking at here? The clutch seemed to work fine and was in good condition. I blew all the old dust out and everything with air. I did ride in some water last ride. I guess maybe the belt cover could have water still in it?

Simple non ebs clutch system that uses the 3211077 belt. Make sure on clutch alignment, belt should have been tracking center.Check the inner clutch sheaths for any cracks, rough spots that could start chewing at belts.Plus you may want to tear into the driven clutch and check out/replace the ramp buttons.Make sure there are no obstructions in the air flow into and out of the clutch cover.Another belt killer, heat. Check engine mounts for any separation that could cause the engine to flex putting additional pressure on the belt.If you've destroyed a new oem belt you definitely have a problem somewhere.
