Did this for my 04 500 Got this out of Polaris manual guess you need to do this for proper bolt stretch
CYLINDER bolts tighten in three stages crisscross pattern up to 46 ft lbs 2 smaller 6mm bolts 6 ft lbs
CYLINDER HEAD a little trickier here goes
criss cross pattern torque to 22 ft lbs
then torque to 51 ft lbs
loosen bolts evenly 180 or 1/2 turn
loosen another 180 or 1/2 turn
retorque bolts to 11 ft lbs
from this point tighten bolts evenly 90 degrees 1/4 turn
finally tighten another 90 degrees or 1/4 turn
install two 6mm bolts and torque to 6 ft lbs
note I'm not a Polaris mechanic LOL

Default Thanx a lot man.

I sure appreciate the info, just bought one of the niche top end rebuild kits. Came without any paper work so I called a polaris powersports nearby and the mechanic gave me completely incorrect torque specs . So I get to do it again.

Default Yeah

I build car engines for a living so I figured itd be no issue, but incorrect torque specs will mess it up no matter what u do
