I have a 1994 Polaris 300 2x4 and on the weekend the right rear hub stripped. I found the axle nut loose and a washer missing. I have a used hub but when i put it on there is some rotational slop on the splines. If i have the hub spaced out a bit there is less slop. Is it alright to put a washer behind the hub to move it out a bit?

 

just my .02 and I know a pain but your going to be better to replace it as the good part of the spine most likely will not last even if you move it out to it.
