I have a 1999 Polaris magnum 500 with EBS. I just replaced the primary drive clutch with a new Niche clutch ( wich i double checked was the right one for this model), and put new bushes in the secondary clutch. I purchased new weights and a spring from Polaris to make sure they were the same as what was in it. i also replaced the drive belt with a Dayco HPX 2004. I started the bike and when i go to put it into gear it drives straight away in forward and reverse at idle like there is no slip at all. is the dayco the wrong belt or if not any clues as to what have done wrong?
Any belt for a Polaris with EBS has grooves cut into the cogs on the inside of it like in this picture. I don't know if this is the belt you need. I just found a picture to show you. If it doesn't have the grooves on the inside cogs it's the wrong belt. If you do need a new belt make sure it's a Polaris belt. They seem to work better than a lot of aftermarket belts.
