Default 2000 Polaris Sportsman 500 AWD Problem

Hello All,

A friend and I are in the middle of repairing my AWD on my ATV... I was told by someone to ground the two brown wires going to the speedometer six wire harness (splice into them and ground each one the out). Has anyone done this fix??? Right now i'm only getting power at one end of the harness the goes to the hub coil and not the other. When we join the the hub that does not have power to the other that does the AWD works. Right now my switch does not work but if we manually push the two contacts together in the switch the AWD works but with the switch it does not.. One harness going to the hub coil works and absolutely no power on the other going to the hub.

Thanks for your help!

You have to cut/splice both the left and right front hub coil brown wires twist together and hook to pigtail to new ground point to ground on frame easiest to do near ignition coil. Both hub coils plug into harness near that point

Thanks we tried doing that but couldn’t get it to work. The only way we can get it to work is discribed above other than splicing into the brown wires in the speedometer.

Found out the switch for the AWD was no good after replacing it and some bad/missing wiring we got the machine back up and running.
