Default I have a polaris a 95 300 im fixing and its driving me crazy

I put a new recoil on it, drained old fuel, fresh spark plug, new carb kit, and i cant this POS to start right. Takes me for ever to get it going anf i just noticed its leaking fuel now. why are there 4 hoses? Do i need to adjust the little brass screw? Seems to be running incredibly rich. The old plug was fouled. Driving me nuts

Sounds like you need to buy a factory service manual so you will know all this stuff. Everything needs to be adjusted to specs for it to run right, everything! A manyal will give you everything without having to wait days for folks to answer you here.

okay i fixed the leak. i replaced the valve seat. didnt think they needed to be replaced because i never have before and never had problems but that seemed to stop the leak. that or it was me bending the float arm just a tad. i used my screw drive handle to knock the pin back in the carb and could have bent it the opposite way. now i had it idling very nicely. but it took forever to get going till i sprayed carb cleaner in the carb with W O T and it fired up in one pull. i noticed the fuel line was empty (sea through hose) and i still had fuel in the tank... strange right? so i took the fuel filter out and fuel started pouring out so i new there wasn't a restriction. id like to know if there is a fuel pump on these quads? i dont think there is but ive been wrong before. im going to try starting it up cold in an hour see if it runs right and starts up easy.

Unfortunately it flooded the engine so bad that the exhaust was filled with fuel. Reading around i think it needed a new carb. I dont think the floats were as strong as they use to be. I told the customer that if hes not using it to turn the fuel off or it will flood. I think a fresh carb would have fixed the issue. I was reading around courtesy of the legend old polaris tech that these carbs wear out on the pin and float arm or it needs oem needle and seat for the float. The customer didnt seem to care because its old so i shrugged my shoulders and he took it home.
