2004 400 polaris overheating????? Help

2004 400 polaris overheating????? Help
2004 polaris 400 overheating, there is no thermal switch on the radiator anywhere, so what activates the fan? The fan does work when I unplug it and wire it in to a battery. When I unplug the thermal switch above the oil filter the eng hot light comes on in the display, needing help asap
