Yeah I'm thinking about getting a Raptor or a 400EX for the summer...and I was wanting to know what some of the problems the Raptors have, if any? Also, is there very much difference between the Raptor and the 400EX? I heard the only difference is top speed on the Raptor, but if that's all I'm gonna get the 400EX, I don't use top-end power all that much anyway.

Go with the Raptor. The 400EX is nice but if you ever ride a buddies Raptor you weill be very upset with your choice. I have not had any problems and oput of all the delears near me they had one in for clutch. Alot of the things people on the forum say are bull about the Raptor

With the exception of a sticky throttle cable one time my Raptor has been perfect. I would choose the Raptor over a 400ex every time. It basically feels like a 400ex in size and handling but with a ton more torque and top end. Plus it backs up!

400EX? it's been done before. Your gonna see alot of people adding mods to the Raptor, on the board.( including myself ). Truth is, the Raptor doesn't actually need them.what your actually seeing is people Tweaking the Raptor for their style of riding. Trail, dune, drag, moto you name it their using it. 400EX? Good bike.no doubt.but if you can find a Raptor. Buy it. You will not regret it (unless you finance it through Yamaha, but thats a topic for "Jerry".)

Simply put; it's the best overall bike that money can buy from the manufacturers. Just keeping it real...

Well I would have to say the Raptors pretty cool, but I have to be objective. I have had mine for a month and a half now and I just about completed my second tank of gas yesterday. Well that was put to an abrupt halt due to a slight problem. I thought I bent a rim. " I wish !". What really happened was i was climbing a winding hill. got bottomed out and started to roll back. Well she bumped a tree on the way down. NOTE: no cosmetic damage at all. Now I have a bent axle! I would have to say the axles are made from recycled mountain dew cans. I have put my 300ex end over end side ways 4 rotations with only the need to straighten out the bars. I have to see a dealer in the morning to find out if they can warranty it or not. Other than that, hang on it will leave you.
