Hey guys first time using a forum, i really some help here , i have an 07 kingquad 700, it refuses to start, with the electric start, just turns and turns. i have changed plug, checked grounds checked fuses all are good. It randomly starts and runs really good for hours, i stop and try to restart it will turn over for days but wont catch, however if i use pull cord it will always start first pull no issues ever. Any help would greatly be appreciated!

 

You did well to start it on the pull start, I could never get a 700 over compression. Is the FI light flashing when the fault is on? If so jumping the correct wires on the diagnostic plug should fetch up a fault code on the speedo display. I always clean out the injector with compressed air if I get problems with a KQ, it is the most common intermittent fault, though they usually run badly once started if that is the problem. A clogged fuel filter in the tank, and faulty TPS are other common problems that don't throw fault codes. If the battery is low, it can also prevent starting, although the engine may turn over on the starter, if a little slowly. I think that does fault code though.

 

Thanks for the reply, i should have said the only way i can pull start it is if it has ran and warmed up, if its cold id probably rip my arm off lol there are no codes on speedo, ive seen a video of a guy using a paperclip and jumping something to put it in ‘dealer mode’ ? To see what codes come up, my mechanical skills are not the greatest i still have alot of learning to do, thanks to youtube, it has been a huge help. As for the injectors is it hard to access? I have a compressor and will give it a try, but it runs Smooth once started. I will try and find some time this week to check the tps..the battery is brand new as of a few months ago, i do have battery tender in it as well. Anyway it could be the starter? Its rather frustrating. Thanks again!
