I bought a Suzuki quad from a yard sale for my son it’s a 250 but I can’t find any numbers or don’t know what year it is and how can I tell if it’s a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke

 

In general:

4 stroke: about 1" diameter exhaust pipe between engine and sausage-shaped muffler in the back of the quad..

2 stroke: exhaust pipe goes from engine to a long, strangely-shaped "expansion chamber" on side of ATV, extending toward rear. The muffler may be integrated into this expansion chamber.

How do you know it is 250cc? Post some pix.

 

it says 249 cc on the side of the engine I’m not sure how to post pictures on here yet
