Big Bear steering
#1
I have a '99 Big Bear 4x4 that I bought used last Oct. It had not been the most maintained bike around, but the price was right. (learned what to look for here!) We liked it and riding so much we now have 2 more, a '01 BB 4x4 (Mine)(Feb) and a '01 Kodiak 4x4 (Hers) (Apr). The '99 steers almost as easy as the Kodiak in 2wd, the '01 BB is still VERY stiff. I am on about tank #5 and it is somewhat better than when brand new but it is still a handful. Could it be that something in the steering was tightened too much in assembly? It is stiffer than the Kodiak in 4x4 and it only has 48mi on it. I realize that 4x4 quads are not going to be as "nimble" as 4x2's, but this does seem a bit abnormal.
Any suggestions, other than another Kodiak (I am broke, but she is way happy!), or do I just wait for that HiLifter unlocker?
Thanks again gang from a newbie...

that sounds strange. i don't own one personally, but rode a 00 bbear when it was still very new (if i remember correctly just over 30 miles on it)
and don't remember it being very difficult to steer. it wasn't as easy as my grizz, but i don't remember it being as difficult as yours sounds. if its under warranty, take it back to the dealer.
