It took only one ride to realize that the stock plastic (what the hell were they thinking) skid plates were useless. I want to line the entire bike with new skids from A-Arms all the way back. I used to have DG on my 400ex but I was wondering what products are better if not cheaper? AC, Graydon, etc? I would also like a new front bumper, I hate the aftermarket yamaha one and was wondering whats better the Graydon or AC front bumper. They both look pretty sweet. Thanks

PRM is pretty considered the best and usually fits perfectly, although they aren't the cheapest. I have many entries from people who bought the whole PRM setup. You can check them out at http://www.prm-atv.com .You also buy directly from them, I don't think they sell through any dealers. They have several front bumpers and rear racks also.

Good luck,

I have bought and installed an entire PRM setup. I love them. They are built really well, and I have heard a lot of good things about them. The DG may look good, but the PRM are about the same price, and from what I've heard, are built better. Good luck.

I checked out all the skids and the oines I found to be the best are the GYT-R from Yamaha. They are expensive but they offer better protection on hte A arma and on the frame. I really dont think the Swingarm skid from Yamaha is worth $169.99 so I will probably go with the PRM or the AC swingarm skid plate. Hope this helps.

I agree did my shopping and went with GYT-R's setup. Ride my Raptor like it's the Last time everytime. All the plates are holding up accept the Swing Arm. however, i reside in NH also known as "The Granite State", and i'm not sure any of the other products would be holding up any better. My plan is to go with a steel swing arm plate ( I know it's heavier. but steel does not have to be as thick as soft aluminum and will gain me some more ground clearance.)

Any particular reason you went with the GYTR's after shopping around? What is with that $169 for a rear skid plate. Yamaha knew what they were doing when they built the Raptor. There sitting back laughing right now at the plastic skids and then laughing all the way to the bank when someone (idon't know who) would pay that much for a rear skid plate. Thanks for the suggestions

The PRM belly skid and swing arm skid are top notch. Man, have you ever seen a swing arm skid so heavy duty? They also fit perfect, no pushing puling, etc. Just bolts right on.
