If it is backfiring you know you're getting a spark which is good.
You probably need to rebuild the carb. If gasoline dried in there it is probably all gummed up. If it still won't run after a carb rebuild, check the compression.
Good luck and keep us posted!

did that today now I definitely think it’s a hole in the piston or the valves gummed up because the stuff I found in the carb was no joke lol it was almost like old glue pretty nasty stuff gonna do a compression check hopefully this weekend and go from there
thanks for the reply 👍🏻

If compression is fine and you've eliminated all potential electrical issues the valves might need adjusting. Unfortunately, I am not an atv mechanic and most of my experience is on older 2 cycle engines so I am hoping some of the experts will chime in to help too.
Could you give us more info on the bike?
How long has it been stored?
What happened when it was stored? Was it an accident or a mechanical issue that caused it to be put away?
How many miles are on it?
This info might be helpful to others who respond.
Please keep us posted!
