Hi guys, today I E-Mailed Edelbrock on their Qwik Silver carb and the info I got was that it would be avail in about 90 days and the cost would be $470.95. They did not reply back with any results on their testing with the DS so I can't answer that. If it is similiar to the results on the 400EX then I'm sure i'll be purchasing one soon. Thought I'd let you guys know. Newdsowner

My DS was the test quad for the QwikSilver it is great. The frist time I took off I all most filp it over back wards. Every thing they said on the EX400 goes for the DS650.

Hello ds I can not say any thing on the A-arms and shocks just put them on this weekend. The Custom-x is due Friday or Monday. I have not been able to ride for the past two months due to the fact that TCS had my rear Shock to rebuild. They wanted to put in a new rear spring in but the manufacturer keep on pushing his orders back what a pain. I hope to have every thing done this weekend I still need to readjust the front end. I will let you know how it works out when I get it is all back together, say hello to everybody there.

CALDS650 I can't remember, did the quicksilver clear the CT pipe, or the stock head pipe? is there enough adjustment to handel altitude changes from sea level to 10,000 ft.? thanks

DSjockey it will clear the stock but not the CT, Graydon or Big Gun. There is enough adjustment for sea level too 6000 ft then you would have to change the needle and it is a 15 min job at worst. If I can get some time off from work I plain to go to AZ for some High alt testing.

I noticed that you have the custom X pipe and the Quicksilver carb. What differences did you feel from just the pipe? What about when you added the carb.? I just bought a used 2000 DS650 stock. I would like more torque like my 400ex. The power is awesome but I want more low end grunt. Thanks.

bowenc8484 I still due not have my Custom-X let (UPS has it) but from the Dyno figures it is just like the Alba pipe I used but quieter. The pipe add more low end and mid range punch. When I added the QwikSilver it added even more. The last time we dyno my DS it was still making power when it hit the rev limiter. Since then I have added the Ron Wood CDI but I want to add his Valve springs to keep them from floating. I all most flipped my DS the first time I took off real hard in fist gear all I saw was the gas cap. I now cruise the dunes of Glamis mainly in third and forth gear and take off only in second.

Well I just had to email Edelbrock about this, the CT pipe is so close to the stock pipe, Mike Price responded and said that only the Big Gun conflicts with the the Quicksilver which makes sense because the back half will work as a slip on if you want, anybody know the throat diamiter on this carb? flat slide? sure would be sweet to tune the carb with just a ****

Thanks for the info. I have been reading for months before I actually bought the Ds. Keep sending out great info. You have been a great help in my decision. I don't want to spend much money but I would like more bottom end. I think the pipe you are talking about will do the trick. Keep me informed when it arrives. Thanks.
