107cc China quad fuel spark but no start backwards compression
#1
New to this forum but anyways I’m an auto mechanic and have basic knowledge of the atv as far as spark fuel delivery wiring etc. And I’m having a hard time with these Chinese atvs
so I have a red I think tao Tao doesn’t say anywhere besides 107cc but it’s got spark carbs been cleaned new wiring and when I try to start it it spits fuel out from the air filter I’ve adjusted the valves and the timing seems to be on when I put the crankshaft on tdc the head marks line up so I’m lost

Cam timing is fairly wild, so a bit of spit back is normal. However did you check T mark on flywheel with TDC by piston, as the starter turns the flywheel and, if the flywheel slips on the crank, it puts ignition timing out.

@merryman i did check the timing all the marks line up the camshaft lines up with the head mark when the cs is on tdc or the “t” mark so I’m not sure if I’m 180 off Bc the timing hasn’t ever been messed with to my knowledge so I’m down to a head gasket or the timing thanks for the reply!

@merryman Ik it’s late just wanted to let you know tomorrow I will be changing the head gasket and checking the timing, do you think it might be 180 backwards because it spit fuel and lots of air from the back of the carb as if the exhaust valve wasn’t opening
