at present am using a ftr pipe & silencer on my 98 scram. It runs fine but is way too loud so tonight i put on my stock silencer in preperation for tommorrows ride.I fired it up quick, noticed more smoke & checked the plug, running rich so adjusted the needle to compensate, seems ok but cant really run it till tommorrow. What I need to know is if anyone is using this setup (new pipe ,old silencer) thanks, bob

 

No need to even reply to this post folks, got up saturday morning an started loading up, saw that ugly stock silencer, took the packing out and reversed it in the new silencer and said hey 1 more ride. Reinstalled it, set the needle back to where it should be and went out and had a great day riding. Monday morning gonna order a couple of packs of that silencer packing mat'l to keep on hand so I dont have to play this game again. Take care and god bless all bob
