New clutch, engine stalls
#1
Hi everyone,
My 125cc taotao atv wasn’t pulling at all so I replaced the clutch. Now when I put it in forward it just stalls. Anyone know why this might be. I have tried adjusting the clutch, but no use.
thanks

Did anyone ever give you some advice on this? My kid's Tao125 stalls in forward but not reverse. I'm trying to figure this out. Clean carb and new filter. I'm not great at tuning this thing, but if it's a carb thing I would think it would die in both F or R. Put on a new clutch and it's exactly the same issue. There doesn't seem to be an adjustment in the clutch, unless I'm missing it.

Original posters problem was the one way clutch in the centre of the centrifugal clutch, was put in backwards, or the centrifugal had been damaged when refitting.
Your problem is either the chain jamming when being driven forwards, or the brakes sticking, or a rear axle problem. Try pushing the bike backwards and forwards. It is just possible there is a gearbox problem but the clutch is before the gearbox, so a faulty clutch would cause the same trouble in reverse.
