Default '95 LT-4WD 250 Quadrunner

I Was given this broken quad by a friend to fix for my kids.
I was told it was running, then one day it just clicked, and wouldnt start. The pull cord won't budge, but I was told when it was running, the cord wouldn't pull. (I need to know how to tell if it's seized).
Thanx in advance!

Take the pull start off and see if you can move the crank round by hand.

Single click on solenoid usually indicates either faulty solenoid or faulty starter motor, multiple clicks a flat battery or seizure, not 100% accurate though. How to tell if the fault is solenoid, put a 12v test lamp between starter live lead and earth, switch ignition on, press start button, lamp lights = faulty starter, solenoid clicks but lamp doesn't light = faulty solenoid.

Might be an idea to actually read what people post, I repeat "Take the pull start off and see if you can move the crank round by hand."

Default Seized motor ?

Took off pull starter and still can't turn it. The previous owner said it was running even with the pull starter not pulling, as previously stated.

If you can't move the crankshaft round by hand, the engine is seized. May not be piston/little end failure but, if the crankshaft won't move either way it probably is, and you have to start somewhere, so take the top end apart first.

Good luck, I can not offer mechanical advice, but I have had my 89 for years. They were truly ahead of thier time. Enjoy the project with your kids and post pics
