When my transmission went out, I had to take it to the local polaris shop. It was making a grinding noise when i had took it there. When i got it back the total price was $734. I swear to you. VERY EXPENSIVE. Later, Kenny

I had mine replaced under warranty. The bill they submitted said $1200. I do not know if they inflate the bill for reporting or what. It was the new generation case and that included labor. Just the case is around $200 I believe.

These guys above are close on prices. My friend bought a 96 scrambler 400, it didn't move when he got it, so he bought it cheap as is. We got it home, took the tranny out, and it just turned out to be a $160 shifting fork and gear that was worn...so he saved a bundle. It's worth taking it apart first. Unless it was catastrophic failure, all the reverse components should be good...unless just the fork is worn.
