I had a friend bring his dirtbike over this weekend to take a ride. Well, the weekend couldn't have started off any worse. First off, I come out of a creek bed airborn and miss the trail, I turn around and my buddy is flying straight at me. I was lucky he only hit the qaud and not me, didn't hurt my quad any and cracked his plastic. Then later on, I was flying up a very narrow path and busted a tree with the front right tire. The handlebars turned very quickly, busting my hands all up, almost breaking my thumbs. I soon found out that I also hurt my back and won't be doing any major lifting for a while. Luckly I own a magnum and it didn't hurt the quad. Sure I hit trees all the time, but I don't do it unintentionally, I do admit I am a tree killer, but what can you do.
I also want to give some advice to some people, if you have goggles, wear them, I had a tree limb bust me in my eye and now I have a large gash just to the side of my eye, lucky I didn't lose it.
Well, that was my riding experience this weekend, I hurt very badly but the quad is just fine.

Why on earth would you ride without goggles?? hel...lo! they make saftey gear for a reason. Your lucky you are able to walk still. the body is able to take just so much abuse. hope you get better soon! really!

I always wear a helmet, after having a tree limb snap back and hit me in the head, with my helmet on, knocked me off my machine, would have most likley hospitalized me with out it, I never leave home without one on.

If you hit a tree that hard you should closely inspect the bushings on the A-arms. The brass bushings are prone to breaking, and the inner rod in the arm will bend. The parts are cheap, and easy to replace, I carry an extra set in the tool box.
