Eton 90 Ignition
#1
Hello everyone. I just picked up a Eton 90 for cheap. There was no spark and the cdi was broke. I wired a new 5 plug cdi into it. Now it starts with kick start only. When I connect the battery with the key out, the motor will start turning over. Did I wire the cdi wrong or could I have a faulty key switch? Thing runs great but can't shut it off with choking it out.

Etons are "different" they seem to have used an earth to run CDI. These are expensive, though I think still available from Alpha Sports. The alternative is to earth the kill wire to the ignition switch, and use the Kill button to stop the machine, instead of the ignition switch. However that shouldn't mean the engine tries to start when you connect the battery, for that, someone must have messed up the wiring.
