Stalled 2021 570 in water up to muffler HELP
#1
Hey guys , new to the atv world , goona make this short , I got stuck in my atv in the water up to the muffler , it stalled, winched myself out and tried to start it (stupid move I know) anyway it freely turned over but couldn’t fire up and a bunch of water spewed out of the exhaust , the air intake and filter were dry so I’m assuming water got into the cylinder through the exhaust , towed it back home removed plugs and turned it over a few times and a couple puffs of water vapour and a few dirty water droplets fell onto the spark plug wall , I cranked it until the air was clear, put the plug back in and it fired up right away and sounds normal. I checked the oil dipstick and it had milky oil on it, I went to Canadian tire and grabbed some cheap 0w-20 synthetic oil and filled it up with 2 quarts of cheap oil and ran it with the old oil filter , I did this 4 times until I saw no milky substance on the filler cap or dipstick, during the repeated oil changes I ran the atv for 5-10 mins with the last 4th oil change rode the bike around my property for 5 mins to get it up to temp and then drained it and put in the recommended polaris oil and new filter. I drain the front and rear gear case, didn’t notice any milky ness if any in those and replaced with fresh oils. I know I did everything terribly wrong , and I’m really mad at myself for how I dealt with this. Do you think I caused any damage running 0w-20 for the flushes ? Would I know if I bent a piston rod ? Everything sounds normal and I went for a 50km ride with no overheating and it sounds fine …. Just need some assurance .
