Hay there i got a Suzuki lt230 motor in my buggy and it starts good and idles great but when i go for a ride and when it gets warm it starts to back fire
and run like ****. I had a suzuki alt125 in the buggy before and when i got the 230 there was no wiring harness with it so m using the cdi unit from the 125 will that be doing it.
I put a new carb on it and everything else that i can think of doing to it please help mr

 

What colour is the plug nose? If it is death white, I would be suspecting the carb. Clean the old one out and re-fit it. Are you sure the new engine is getting enough cooling air? If the plug is black, then I would suspect either a stuck choke, or possibly the CDI does have the wrong advance curve for that motor.
