Default 2008 Polaris scrambler 500 HELP please!!!!

Hi everyone thanks for taking the time to read this I recently traded a traxxas RC car to a “buddy” for what I was told was a 2008 Polaris scrambler HO 500 4x4 automatic 4 stroke he said all it needed was a carb which he gave me a new one with it and well I got this as a cheap easy fix to get done before Christmas for my boys and me as well 😂 but this is my first atv ever and I’m afraid I’m in over my head I’ve since found out the wiring is a headache idk if I put carb on right and our other buddy that he got it from has the wiring hacked I’m assuming he just ran it hot wire to battery to jump somebody please help idk if the seat and gas tank even go to this back brakes are off of it and I’m on countdown as Christmas gets closer thank you for reading oh last thing he said the swing arm needed a bolt on the right side as the rear end will slide to the left and kick the chain

Welcome to the forums. If you can post some pictures of it, that would probably help. The pictures may need to be approved, so don't panic if you get something that says that. One of the mods will see it and get it taken care of.

sounds like you have a nightmare on your hands. what is your question? the picture doesn't really show anything specific. every bike needs a 1 battery to maintain a 12 volt charge to run the bike. do you know if this bike even ran? does it have compression? how long was the carb off it and did the intake get blocked off to keep everything out? why is the gas take out of it? does the fuel pump work? you have alot of unanswered questions besides just the wiring and brakes. not trying to depress you, but if you do not know the history it's any body's guess on what it needs.

I will get some better pictures yes it was plugged off so nothing got into it he got it on a trade from someone else because they didn’t wanna buy a new carb but the guy I got it from gave me a brand new carb for it I got a battery charging now for it but the gas tank I have no idea what it goes too is it possible to make a mount for that and run a fuel line from it even though it ain’t the right tank? And the swing arm bushings are bad does anybody know what size that bolt is in the swing arm?
