1996 polaris 425 magnum 4x4-spark but will not fire
#1
Stator and trigger coil ohm out as they should. Have checked camshaft and valve adjustment, all ok. Has spark but will not fire even with a shot of brake clean. Have repkaced the spark plug. Primary coil reads 0.5 ohms in spec. Secondary reads 3k ohm ground to coil screw for plug lead. Out of spec but have spark. Not sure if spark is strong enough. Could the coil be the issue?

Turns out trigger gap was at over .060, spec .016 to .040. Not adjustable. Ground off locating tabs, elongated mounting holes and set gap at .022. Reassembled and spark will now jump a 5/8" gap. Unit now starts as it never has! Had spark but would not fire under compression.
