Kazuma 2012 Jaguar 500cc ATV
#1
G'day all,
I have just purchased a jauar 500cc second hand which is in very good condition, I want to give it a complete service before i start using it , I have a couple of questions if anybody can help.
1. what grade of oil to run in these motors , I am in a hot climate . ( I have the owners manual which does give me SE 15W/40, but i see a thread on the internet indicating that this grade is not correct )
2. The correct way to check oil level, I:E screw the dip stick in and out to check level or just put dip stck in until the thread touches to get the correct level.
any help would be great

Doesn't look like anyone actually knows on here, but I would go by what the maker says, not somebody on the net. Use oil suitable for motorcycles as many car oils contain friction inhibiters which makes wet clutch(es) slip. I would also go with the way you indicate to check level, this is the Japanese way and, as the big makers, they seem to set the rules on bikes and ATVs.
