One Spark on 98 Polaris 500 Big Boss
#1
Sorry if this one is well covered already but I searched and only found other guys asking.
It died while driving and I think I might have heard a very slight mechanical sound.
One Spark is all over YouTube as if it's a problem particular to Polaris.
They mostly say to disconnect the black kill switch line but that didn't help.
When I first checked I only got one spark when I hit the start button.
Now after I've messed around I only get one spark as I lift off the start button.
So I replaced the coil but then couldn't get even get any spark at all.
So then replaced the CDI and I'm back to one spark as I lift off the starter button.
Pulling the chord doesn't help.
So what does anyone suggest as my next move?
Pull the cover off and look at the stator?
BTW this is a low mileage clean machine.
So I don't think I've got a wiring harness grounding out somewhere else like one guy did.
Thanks
