Default No Spark!!

My 1996 425 Magnum got no spark when you hit the start button, but as soon as you stop pushing the starter button it throws out a spark and it even starts once in a great while. Anybody got any advice? Maybe a dying CDI? Bad coil?

if it sparks when you pull the rope maybe there is a weird short in your wiring. that is pretty strange

My guess would be the starter button is messed up. Unplug it and short the wires out to see if it starts.

Usually trigger(pulse coil) on stator, some models can order separetly, others list complete stator OR aftermarket pulsers are beginning to show up! check pulser for short to ground,or talk dealer out of pulser specs (cant remember) 460 ohms I think? Also when /if you pull flywheel see if pulser damaged, muddy. Also disconnect black wire from cdi (kill switch) then see if you get fire!

if you have to get a pulser try RMSTATOR.com that where i got mine, pretty cheap and fast. but if you pulser is muddy you have bigger fish to fry.
