Default 1996 Polaris Xplorer 400 Gas poured into oil reservoir

Hello everyone,
As the title says gas was mistakenly poured into the oil fill instead of the gas tank.
Unfortunately dad has gotten to the age where he is not as aware of things anymore, and mistakenly added gas to the wrong place.

My question is, how serious is this?
Should the oil be completely drained?

The machine was run briefly with gas in the oil, before it was revealed what happened.
It ran fine without issue, but I don't know if it is going to cause problems. If we keep running it.

Thank you for your input and any ideas

How long has gas been in oil? If just a few days prolly good to go ahead drain it out and fresh oil in engine you dont wont to leave to long I have had seals starting to swell up and could leak and does it have oil cooler? if so remove oil line from cooler and let it drain a little

It just happened the same day of the post --
The '96 400 is a two stroke engine so there is no oil in the engine itself, but has an oil reservoir to inject oil (as opposed to pre mixing) so the gas and oil mix eventually, but
I have questions or concerns that the gas may adversely affect the oil pump and injector mechanism

It was not all that much gas, as the oil in the reservoir was already full, or nearly so. as it gets topped off with oil, every other tank of gas or so.
