Is replacing the outer (closest to the hub) rear boot on the(99)Sp500 something the average backyard mechanic can replace, or is best left up to the dealer? Can you remove the u-joint itself without removing the entire shaft from the transmission? Does the yolk come apart from the axle and if so is this a major undertaking..or does the u-joint have to be pressed out similar to an automotive driveshaft and the boot stretched over the yolk? If you have to remove the entire cv assembly from the transmission, what holds the inner joint into the transmission housing? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks....dcop
