I lost my issue that has the [red]450EX[/red] from Quad Central in it!
I want to know where they got that aluminum airbox that you can put your battery inside.
Does anyone know anything about this?
Where can I find one?
How much are they?
Are they difficult to install?
Any help on this would be great!

The custom aluminum air box is made by Ram Pro-Line. It houses the battery and voltage regulator inside, and costs $289. I don't know how to get in touch with Ram Pro-Line, but this should at least give you a start. I might try calling Steve Abbot at Quad Central 2, and asking him about it. I'm sure he could point you in the right direction. Who knows, he may even have some in stock. Good luck 400exrydr.

Just wanted to say a few words about that 450EX. Quad Central II is where I get most of my mods for my 400 and Steve Abott is a real nutt. He has tried to get me to do the same thing to my 400 and he let me ride it to see how well it worked. Let me tell you, I HATE Dirt Wheels! There write up on that quad is sooo lame! They made it sound like a little sissy that could barely make it in the big bore class. There idiots! He told me what the gearing was but I can't quite remember, I think it was like a 16/34 ratio and that thing still had tons of acceleration. Don't get me wrong, the potential of a big bore far exceeds that of a mid bore, but I really hate the Dirt Wheels write up. That quad is in no way 'tame'. He took it to dumount and the last I heard, he had never been beaten. Also, remember the shootout between the 400, Ds650 and the Raptor? Well, Steve was one of the test riders and he told me that he through 6 chains in one day, bent the axle, cracked the frame and lots of other things, all on the Raptor. I like the Raptor, but it really chaps my a** that Dirt Wheels doesn't mention any of that and then one thing goes wrong with the 400 and "Well, ya see, the 400 is known for it's week clutch and we really found out about it during this shootout". Bla Bla Bla! I also had a pro rider that's in the magazines all the time tell me that Dirt Wheels writes for those who contribute the most money. I won't mention his name. Well that's my 2 cents.

DirtWheels does a lot of testing right here in Minnesota. One un-named Pro level racer does reviews for DW at his own private MX track. He also sponsers many racers that I talk to on a regular basis. You should hear the stories about what these guys do to the machine's during testing. DirtWheels leaves out 90% of the comments given by test riders and fills the stories with fluff. Many times you wonder what the test riders are on to give reviews like they do. But it's not the riders giving vague answers. It's the magazine's twisting every around. The rider's do thier part by preforming for action photos and Q & A sessions. But the mag still gets to print whatever they want.
