i know thisa topic is beat to death but im convinced now that i need the conversion! could someone give me the dimentions ont the brackets. i have tons of metal and have access to many machines and i would rather save the money and make my own kit but all i need is the sizes! if someone could please measure it for my i would like that alot! also this is beaten to death but where is a better place to get a 330 kit from? TC racing or FST? tc is closer but i heard his is more expensive! thanks for your time! -eric

I'm going to do this too. I got this weird idea tho. Ugly said that if he used the brackets with the stock shocks it would lower it. So I'm thinking about buying the Dura Blue front lowering kit and then putting on 400ex shocks. Think it would work?

Yes I did make my own conversion.I used basicly lower brackets. If U need me to I can measure them for U.
U will have to make a cross brace. If U don't it will push the new upper shock mounts inward. This is no good.
I forgot to take pics of the setup.I will before I get the plastic all the way on though.Still waiting for the honda shop to get new brackets.
THe set up works excellent!IT makes the bike handle much better.I am going to get some works with the original lenght soon.SO I don't need this conversion.

Eric,
I put the 400EX a-arms on my 300EX without the 400EX shocks. The stock 300EX shocks bolt right up. What happens is the front end drops 2". You still have the same amount of suspension travel but you lose 2" of ground clearance. Mine handles excellent this way because the center of gravity is better. My quad sits level because I have 20" back tires. I thought of using a lowering kit to get the 400EX shocks on my quad too but I never tried it. The kit is like $70 and I have the capability of making my own too if I had something to copy or measure off of. I say just use the stock shocks and see how you like it. I've had mine this way for about 3 months now and I haven't had a single problem with it. The 400EX shocks I bought may wind up just sitting there! Actually I think I'll hold onto them in case I ever blow out a shock. Then maybe I'll try making my own lowering kit?
