What are the differences that would affect the reliability of the Honda 250trx 2x4 vs the Arctic Cat 250 2x4?
I am leaning towards the AC 250 2x4.
Doe's this new AC have any common problems that i can excpect to encounter?.
Any honest opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank's in advance.

i own a ac 250 2x4 2000 model and i work with a guy who owns the recon and ive been out playing in water (up to the racks) and had no prob. the honda stalled every time he went in because were the intake sits high on a ac it sits lower on the honda the ride is 100 times better do to indapendent rear on ac soild rear on honda the only better thing is honda has storage ac dosent honda also seems to have a little more power but the ac has low range honda dont my money would be spent on another 250 but i will make it 4wd.

The Recon is sportier and faster, but the cat is way more comfortable, espeacially if you are a larger guy. The Recon is a small bike made for small people, the cat is made for larger people. They have about the same reliablity record, but I've heard of carb problems on the older models (2001 models have new carbs) and you have CV boots in the rear on the cat that you might want to watch out for. The Recon also doesn't seem to have a serviceable oil fitler like the cat.

If I were buying one of the 2 it would be the Recon probaly, for it's sportyness, but I would get a 4wd model if anything, and only the cat offers 4wd out of the 2.

i don't think the recon has any more power than the ac it just weighs about 150lbs less. i would choose the recon just because it is more sporty. if you drove one you would notice how nimble it is. the ac may have better suspension but it is just way too heavy. the fact that the ac is heavier is good and bad: being heavier means that it is probably built alot stronger but it also means there is more strain on all the drivetrain components. another thing, all of the U-joints in the independent rear suspension could be a weak point if not properly taken care of. the honda would take less maintainance than the ac and would probably hold up better in the long run.

Hope This Helps
