Hey everybody, I went by the local Polaris dealership yesterday and came across a new Scrambler X in the showroom, and I must say it is one badass looking quad the salesman said is prolly the only one in this state "Tennessee," course I don't know if that was true but that quad looked sweet, the salesman also said it was about 45 punds or so lighter than the other scramblers but I had read that in here in the forum already!
Too bad they don't make a 400 2-stroke I would still buy it anyway, that is if I had enough cash, lol!
Oh well just wanted to tell everyone about the beauty I saw in the showroom yesterday!

See y'all later!!!!

We have 3 X's here in Georgetown,TX. They look pretty nice, but we all were really REALLY dissapointed with the wheels. Too bad they don't come in 4x4, they would sell a lot easier!

The RMK on the other hand is really nice, and my favorite Polaris now. I like the new gearing and heavy suspension a lot. Nice stock tires too. I haven't got to test the Visco-Lok in demanding situations yet, but I can tell it steers real nice and I think I'll like it better than the demand system. I think the old style is better for the Scrablers though, the 2wd option is nice for sport riding. I also like that new big disc they put the RMK out back.

Just do what I am doing to my sisters 400, we ordered the black plastic, yellow tb nose piece and we are having the seat done in yellow, red, and black. It looks so trick i will have to post a pic. It is alot cheaper than a new quad, plus since they don't make them in the 400 you look pretty custom.

I was thinking of going that route too (the new black plastic) but I don't want the hassle of having to remove the P.O.S. stickers that they give us here in Pa. Other than the black plastic I see nothing going for the "ScramblerX".

The Scrambler X is about 500 bucks more than the standard 500 2x4. So for that you get:

Aluminum Wheels
Aluminum Bumper
Custom Plastic and Graphics
50+ pounds lighter

Its also a limited production quad so the resale should be a little better. I ordered mine about a 6 weeks ago and should have it anytime now.

Well I do believe that the wheels that come on the scrambler atleast the 400 are aluminium, they are grey but still aluminium. Hey where did they shave the 50 pounds off from?

My dad just traded in his 99' sport for an X a week ago. Look good! It wheelies awesome if it doesn't spin. One of my friends has a 2001 Scrambler 500 2wd with a jet kit, K&N filter, and a supertrapp exhaust. The stock X wheelies WAY better and is almost as easy to wheelie as my 400ex! that's only from a dead stop, you can't pop it up going 50mph like the EX. But the balance point is awesome, you can go on untill you run out of room. This is the first Polaris that I am truly impressed with. seems lighter than the red scramblers. only thing I don't like is it doesn't have pollished aluminum wheeles like the pictures. Just the grey ones on the regular scramblers. anyway, seems to have better bottom end power than the sport 400, which was no slouch. The mid-top feels comparible. The shock valving was changed for the X's and it feels a bit more stiff, and not as "spongy" as the sport. My dad is still breaking it in, but we think it has a top speed of 60-65mph. no different than the regular scramblers. Still a big and heavy machine(compared to a 400ex) and doesn't handle like one, but I am very impressed. I think this is the ultimate trail machine if you want comfort, power, good looks, and fun. But you still cant do big jumps or crazy stuff like a full on sport bike.

I seriously doubt if the Scrambler X has any preformance gains over the regular Scramblers. As far as it losing 50 pounds, who can say where they took it off from? Even if they do lose 50 pounds it's still a pig. It sounds like to me they're trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

ScramblerX,

I do wish you were closer to Pennsylvania and we could hook up and go riding. I'd let you ride my Sport and you'd see what kind of performance the 400s are capable of. I mean if I can do it, why can't it come from the factory that way? I do mean to bash Polaris. It's time they got off their collective backsides and made a real performance machine. They've now got their hands full with the new Kawasaki 650, and all of the other new models (new Yamaha 660, the new Articcat, etc). I'd be willing to bet that if they don't come out with something PDQ, they will lose their #2 spot in sales.
