CLICKING SOUND?????????

WHEN I GET HARD ON THE THROTTLE THERE IS A CLICKING SOUND CANT FIGURE OUT WHETHER IT IS THE CHAIN OR THE BELT FLAPPING ON THE PLASTIC COVER I TOOK THE COVER OFF AND THE BELT LOOKS FINE ANY SUGGESTIONS BY THE WAY ITS A 2000 TRAILBOSS THANKS IN ADVANCE

Sounds to me like your chain may have a stiff link in it hitting your lower plastic chian guide. At least thats what it has been in the past on my Xplorer. Try lubing your chain and make sure your guide moves freely like it's spose too.

Sounds like the noise my chain made. On mine it was the master link. I think the clip got caught on the lower chain guide while I was backing up. It made the clicking sound for awhile before the master link gave out. The dealer replaced it free but I lost a day of riding. From now on I carry an extra. BK

Is the chain guide supposed to be able to move completely around in that semi-circular slot that it's attached to on the swingarm, or is it just supposed to be able to pivot back & forth in one spot?
