Raptor or 440ex

Well since i saw it with my own 2 eyes i can say that the particular 440ex that i saw was faster than the piped Raptor he was racing. The 2 guys were friends and fooling around but they dragged several times and it was kind of close but the 440 won every time. They had enough space to get to 5th. Of course the mods of a 440 will give different results so i would not be suprised if i saw a Raptor beat a 440. But i like the 400ex for everything alse you mentioned.

I don't own either machine, but I have ridden a couple of each, and have riding buddies with each. The only thing the Raptor has over the EX is reverse. The power difference the Raptor has over the EX is pretty much unusable on the trails. I have seen all of the Raptor reliability issues in person, and those issues kept me from buying one. I have also seen a couple cracked swingarms on the EXs.
If someone was going to give me either quad, I would take the Raptor, but, if I was going to spend my money on one or the other, I would buy the 400EX.

Definatly the 440 , i went to the mx races about 3 weeks ago and there was a class that had 330exs and it went up to 660 and the 330exs and 440exs were completely killin gthe tall and skinny piped and race ready raptors . it wasnt like they were stock raptors either they were just as decked out as the warriors that were passing them . for the trail sure there fast and got some power but unless you dont plann on turnig alot i would definatley go with the 440ex or the stock 400ex will still beat it . jumps i would have to say is a ty beacuse the 400ex shocks arent they great but the raptors are really unstable in the air, so ive heard . And 4 reliability the obvious winner would be the HONDA .
