I guess I will be getting one soon. Where do you install it and how? Recomendations as to what make and model?

If I get this right, all you do is choose an ideal operating temperature, like 1200 degrees for instance, and try to keep it there with jetting adjustments. Lean = Too Hot and Rich = Too Low of a temperature. Does that sound right to you??

Brian;
The HPD unit works great. It comes with easy instructions. There's a temperature chart in the package. Stay around 1150-1200 degrees at WOT.

You can get an SLP gauge from Royal Distributing but you will have to fab the mount. They are self propelled, that is the probe provides the power for the gauge. It is a pretty simple install. Do yourself a favour and get a hold of Aaeen's Carb Tuning Handbook. I don't believe it covers the PWK carb but they are similar to any other slide carb. You will find info on placement of probes and tuning variables on two strokes. Trust me, you will learn something, it is worth the money if you are going to play around with jetting.
