86 250R check oil bolt
#1
Have a little problem... You know that bolt on the clutch side that is the check oil bolt? well when I put the engine back toghter I was filling it up with oil and had the bolt out. I put it back in and it broke the head off... Well it looks like it oil is slowly I mean slowly coming out. Like maybe a couple drops a day. Anywyas I really don't want to take the case off again until I need to next month. So I was thinking of using RTV or silcone to seal it for the time being? Then when I take the case off I can back the bolt out and replace? what you guys think? also how much oil is suppose to be in there? Seing I can't tell now?
thanks

i believe in the saying fix it right or pay later.
the part would cost you a whole $2.00's and an hours time. is it worth chancing having that bolt vibrate into the clutch cover and causing a major mess? do it right you'll feel and sleep better for it.

evhwg said it pretty well, there is a huge chance that it will vibrate in and then be sent thru all the turnings of the tranny and clutch systems. $$$$$
Have you tried to get the bolt out using a pointy screwdriver, scribe, awl, or similar object. Try to get the broken off portion to turn in the hole and come out. If you remove the clutch cover, then there may be enough protruding on the opposite side to grab and thread all the way thru the hole.
