air box

I am probably going to take my airbox of my 250X i was wondering will water get in there ? is it worth it ? has anybody else done this ?

My recommendation is if you need more air, just remove the lid. This still gives you some splash protection for the air filter from water and dirt thrown by the tires. If you take it all the way off, you will leave the air filter exposed to more dirt and water. You can also remove the lid and then replace it with an outerware. These are made from same material the air filter outerware is made of, but made to velcro to the air box. This lets in plenty of air, but still repels dirt and water to some extent. If you are a full time racer on closed MX track then you will be changeing the air filter often anyway, otherwise, leave it be.
My opinion, take it for what its worth.

Well i have taken off the air box and made a bracket to hold it up looks awesome . i plan on making some sort of deflector underneath to keep sand and water away .

i dont know yet i broke my axle carrier so i havent got to ride it yet I had a 130 jet with a pipe and some other stuff I will try the 130 and see whats up i will probably have to go up quite a bit so i dont run it too lean does anyone have any recomendations ?

Stick a 140 in it and if thats not lean work your way down.
