ive read the posts and like some of you i wasnt shure about the trany problem,until mine started taking a dump.im not all that upset 2nd gear is going out(i did buy a first year machine and i am willing to repair it myself if i have to)but what pisses me off is we are not offered a actual cure or even a potenial cure for the problem.so far the only potenial cure i can see is updating the trans to 2002 specs,and you can bet the farm those parts are not avaliable yet.so the only other options are to all get together and get a number to customer service and call yamaha(all on the same day) and make are voices herd!so if anyone is interested in doing this post here and lets get together for our own protection.its easy for them to blow off one guy a day but hundreds could drive the point home.and for you guys that dont think youll have trans trouble just wait because i was one of you.and yamaha is not informing their dealers or anyone else about it so i think we should inform yamaha of what we know.we put our trust in them and bought a all new machine,we should let them know that we want a cure for this problem and we want it now.

 

Everyone email dirtwheels and have them post all our letters. I sent them a letter and if they get enough they will publish them all and maybe that will wake up yamaha. Just goto there site(dirtwheelsmag.com) and click on contact us. I realy think this might be an idea.
